Mr. Havens earned a B.S. in Public Affairs from Baruch College where he studied community redevelopment including collaborative public-private partnerships. Mr. Havens then completed his Juris Doctor degree at New York Law School in Manhattan. While in school, Mr. Havens worked at a small law firm in downtown Manhattan, handling real estate, nonprofits, entertainment law, trademarks, and estate planning.

Prior to working in the legal field, Mr. Havens was engaged in construction and facilities management - and is therefore experienced with blueprints, site plans, building codes, etc. Mr. Havens has also served on the Board of several nonprofit organizations, both domestic and international. In his spare time, Mr. Havens enjoys spending time outdoors, playing golf, hiking, and snowboarding, among other things.
