Our philosophy on litigation is that it is often best avoided, if possible. In fact, much of what attorneys focus on in transactional work is the avoidance of litigation later on. Unfortunately it is sometimes necessary.
We understand that litigation can be exceptionally taxing on our clients, both financially and emotionally. That's why we strive to minimize the adverse effects of litigation to the extent that we can, and having a knowledgeable advocate on your side is the best way to manage the stress and complexity of litigation.
If you believe that you may be facing litigation, understand that there are often strict (and sometimes surprisingly short!) deadlines that must be met to initiate or defend a litigation matter. Most statutes of limitations vary from 30 days to 6 years, depending on the type of legal matter at issue; if you miss this deadline, you could be forever precluded from obtaining any recovery or raising a legitimate defense.
